Article LI: The Divine

From a Vedantic perspective, God, or the Divine, pervades all existence. Brahman is believed to be supreme Divinity, which is manifested through the universe and the infinite gods of Hinduism. Although some Hindus give importance to certain deities, the general belief is that there exists one ultimate reality, of which the deities are forms. Brahman is said to be ultimate Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (satchitananda), which exists beyond space, time, and causation. Brahman is beyond space, meaning that Brahman is infinite, beyond all limitations of space. Brahman is beyond time, meaning that Brahman is eternal, encompassing the past, the present, and the future. Brahman is beyond causation, meaning that Brahman is unaffected by the laws of karma (action-reaction). Brahman is also described as ultimate Bliss which is beyond the duality of good and evil.
